  • Our Design Team will create your 3D concept plans, based on the information gathered at your preliminary meeting.

  • We will invite you to our Showroom to view your 3D Concept Plans, during your viewing we will also discuss your colours options and material choices (for example laminate or 2 Pack doors, stone or solid surface bench-tops, material colours etc.). We can also assist with appliance selection and answer any other questions you may have. This meeting should take approximately 1 hour.

What to bring to your Material/Colour consult

At the very least, please bring either a tile or flooring sample to your consult as this will form the basis of your colour and material choices. You should also bring any clippings, photos, or ideas you would like incorporated into your design.

Having trouble with your Design Choices?

If you’re having trouble deciding on an overall theme or decide on a tile or flooring choice, our Interior Design Team can assist with these decisions and much more. Services include lighting & lighting plans, soft furnishings, artwork, custom furniture design etc.

  • Once your Quotation is completed, we will send a copy for you to review.

Your Quotation may include several options for you to decide on, in addition, you may wish to request alterations to your initial quote.

Feel free to reply to us with any requested changes or make an appointment to discuss your quotation in more detail.

  • Once you are happy with your quote, let us know so we can send through the following information:

    • Final Gull Design Quote for signing

    • Gull Design Contract for signing

    • Gull Design Deposit Invoice for Payment

    • QBCC Document for signing & QBCC Insurance Payment (if your total quote exceeds $3,300).

Please note: The QBCC contract and Insurance Payment are QBCC requirements and are designed to protect you, the consumer, for more information please visit the QBCC Website.

  • Some aspects of your installation may require a Dry installation, these include:

    • Stainless Steel

    • Glass Tops & Splash-backs

    • Stone Tops

    • Two Pack Painted Doors

Dry Installation is where your cabinetry is installed with some items unfinished, such as doors yet to be painted, and prior to stone, glass and other materials being cut to size.

This process ensures a correct fit for your final product however does add additional time to your project once the Gull Design installation stage has been completed.

The following aspects of your project will begin with their respective Trades after Gull Design has completed our installation.

Please see the Lead Times section at the top of this webpage for more info.

Stage 2: Production & Installation

The below Production & Installation Timeline is a guide to approximately how long your project will take to complete.

Many factors contribute to the time taken to produce your high-quality custom joinery, including material delays, 3rd party trade delays and weather.

Larger projects may be split into multiple stages (i.e. Kitchen & Robes in one stage, Laundry & Vanities in another).

Variations may delay your overall project timeline and will only be initiated once they are signed and returned.

  • Before your Project can enter the Production Timeline, you must complete the following steps:

    • Sign your Quote & Contract

    • Pay your Initial Project Deposit

    • Sign QBCC Paperwork & Payment (if required)

    • Choose materials, colours & handles

    • Provide appliance specifications to Gull Design including Sinks, Basins, Taps etc.

  • Please see the Lead time section at the top of this page for the current Site Measure Lead Time

  • Once ALL the above information is received from you, you will be contacted to book a final site measure (if required).

Once your Site Measure is complete, your Final Construction Plans will be completed by a Detailer/Project Manager. You will be required to sign these Final Plans before the project can progress to the Production Stage.

You will be sent an invoice for your Site Measure/Pre-Production Payment; this invoice will be payable in order for your project to progress to the Production Stage.

  • The Production Lead Time is the period between ALL the above information being received by Gull Design and when production of your Project will START in our Factory.

Our Production Lead Time can vary (usually between 1 – 6 weeks) depending on how many projects are currently under construction and the stage these projects are at. Your lead time will be advised once you complete your Client Checklist items.

  • Production will start at the end of our Production Lead Time and will vary depending on your chosen Joinery material.

Please see the current Production Lead Times noted at the top of this webpage.

  • Depending on your project, you may be asked to view your Joinery assembled in the factory for final approval.

At this point you will be sent a Pre-Delivery invoice, this invoice will be payable before your project can be installed.

  • We will contact you approximately two to three days prior to your Installation Start Date, to confirm a time for our team to arrive on site. Installation time can vary depending on the size of your project.

  • We will email you once our team have completed the installation and performed our final checks, this email will also contain your final invoice.

We ask that you please perform your own final check and let us know via email if anything is not as you believe it should be, please also include a detailed description along with photos that clearly show the issue.

If everything is in order, we appreciate your prompt payment of the final invoice.
